*sighs* I’ve found yet another geneves which I have am wanting some feedback in if possible guys. I know I’ve posted a few recently haha. I have only recently started looking at vintage omegas, as such my own research is likely to be poor quality.
From my own research I believe that it is a mid 60s geneve, doesn’t look to have been redialled that I can see. I believe it is the correct crown but not too sure, looks to have been polished and has possibly lost some of the sharpness on the bevel. Any other thoughts?

It looks clean but it’s not really possible to tell much from those photos

My first thought is that I would not pay $600 for a gold-plated watch, unless it were miraculously some ultra-rare, highly collectible, NOS item that I planned to put into a drawer.

Boring 70s watch prob with 1XXX movement in good condition, utterly unremarkable though. $400 tops if serviced* IMO. Half that if not.

*Actually properly serviced with proof, not ebay seller bullshit.

Perfectly nice but very overpriced IMO.

Below is my very similar but superior 136.070 cal 613, which I was pleased to sell on eBay last year for £350 (having had no takers on OF Private Sales).

At £494, plus postage plus 20% tax (for importation into the UK from Mexico) and only an assurance of service, I’d pass.

In addition, particularly at that price, you’d do better getting an automatic with a 552/565 movement or a manual wind 601/613, given that those earlier movements have more cachet and are both reliable and comparatively inexpensive to service.

Mexico? If only! The OP watch is being sold out of Albania. Good luck with that.

Meh. Entry level Omega from when the quality was starting to tail off.

Certainly not worth close to £500 of my money.

Is there a reason you’re so set on a Geneve over a Seamaster or Constellation?

That’s a very nice watch there exactly what I’m looking for to be honest. I can’t find many available for an achievable price tag unfortunately

Yes there is a reason. A bit embarrassing really, I saw Ryan gosling wearing something similar in La La Land and fell in love with it haha.

Alot if people are saying that the prices of these Geneves are far too high, but that seems to be the average price of them nowadays from what I’ve seen on the market. A possible increase recently

Well stylistically La La Land is reminiscent of the 50’s so those types of Geneve certainly wouldn’t match.

If you’re set on a Geneve the original, higher quality models such as the 2903 would be much more appropriate

Then listen to what people are telling you and stop chasing the wrong watches. How is an overpriced 1970s Geneve going to scratch an itch for a 1950s piece? When you have the answers you'll be able to ignore all you like.

Have a nice day.
