Another M___rf__r who deserves some :whipped::whipped::whipped:and some 馃ぎ馃ぎ馃ぎ

http://chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=71333

-> Mr 'Ralph West' (I doubt that's his real name) : [email protected]

Sublime watch in sublime condition (mailed him to get pictures)...about as good as it gets IMHO.

First warning sign, wanted shipping info before sending pics (like what? doesn't he have digital ones, is he going to post them?). But he sent them.

Wow. Sublime watch in sublime condition...who wouldn't trade in a testicle for this, right?

Mr David Kim just happens to be watcheswithpatina.com. So I popped him a mail. The real owner of this watch still has it and is very happy with it.

So guys, if anyone else can blacklist this _____ everywhere else please do.

Just goes to show how careful you have to be, well done, perhaps this is a good reason for dealing on this forum! By the way that is a beautiful watch, lucky owner.

Well done @eugeneandresson. I saw the FS post pop up this morning and thought "wowsers, that's nice!". No wonder the real owner is holding on to it!

A newby to the Internet 馃榾? neither have I, but there might be a contact form where you could report it.

From what I have seen on other chronocentric suspect sales posts, challengers just post their concerns right there as a reply. That is what is now occurring. It's up to the seller to verify and/or defend himself or herself.

I chased this watch with a view to buy.
I asked for the usual stuff prior to concluding a deal - a tagged picture, a copy of a utility bill showing a current address and some relevant feedback from previous transactions.
I was surprised when I received a reply - however it just said - 'it's too much trouble and bother to sort out the proof'.
Due diligence is the name of he game.

As a last note : the correspondance from Mr David Kim ... 馃憤 ...

Hi Eugene,

I really appreciate you reaching out to me and letting me know. The last thing I would want is someone to be scammed. We have a wonderful community of vintage collectors and it's great that we look out for each other. I responded to the thread to let others know to be careful because the photos do not belong to him. Glad we could do that together.

But from a bad situation comes some good as you mentioned and I'm glad we started a conversation together. Thank you for visiting the website, if you are on Instagram I encourage you to give me a follow as I do sales from time to time that are Instagram only. @watcheswithpatina

If you ever need anything at all please do not hesitate to ask, otherwise keep in touch my friend. Cheers

Best,
David Kim

@nonuffinkbloke yup so it appears, unfortunately not all of us have folks with great taste 馃榾 or this 'disease'...and fortunately there are still enough good folk out there to make it a worthwhile experience...

Yes it's funny but along with spending the last 6 months trying to learn as much as I can about watches (and in particular the Omega Speedmaster), I have also tried to think of ways that I could protect myself and the person I am dealing with. As a buyer I need to be careful but also as an 'unknown vendor' I need to be able to put a transparent procedure in place that will give anyone who may want to buy from me the confidence and assurance that I want them to have a good deal as well. There is no reason why a sale and purchase can't be a good thing for both parties... just thinking aloud here really mate???馃槙

I think that the level of open communication on these sales forums allows a certain amount of expert scrutiny to take place. That's a good thing and would benefit an Inexperienced vendor. Outside on the net it's the Wild West.馃槻
