Chronocentric is full of scammers. It doesn't have the infrastructure such as feedback forums, member profiles etc so it attracts the scammers. Same with Watchnet. I'll never buy a watch of those forums.

OF the only safe way with the 200 post before selling and a very attentive admin I would feel very confident buying a watch on here.
Thanks

I chased this watch with a view to buy.
I asked for the usual stuff prior to concluding a deal - a tagged picture, a copy of a utility bill showing a current address and some relevant feedback from previous transactions.
I was surprised when I received a reply - however it just said - 'it's too much trouble and bother to sort out the proof'.
Due diligence is the name of he game.

My friend your criteria is even more stringent than some auction houses! LOL. 馃槣

Yeah I agree! Recently many scammers on chronocentric. Don't they have Moderators to remove scamming posts?

I saw this sell in a flash for $9k about a year ago, which was the high water mark by mikes for this reference. Looking back now, was worth every penny.

As for the aforementioned site, one of my watches was put for sale without my knowledge. I tried desperately to email the mods to take down the scam ad, but to no avail.

It's a scammers delight.

Tried to buy a speedy two weeks ago from private seller on Chrono24. I insisted we use the escrow service for the transaction. Suddenly he reported it was already sold. Yes, scammers are everywhere.

I've got a solid rule... no ebay/interweeb watches. I've only violated the rule once, and that was to buy a rare piece from a parts supplier I knew well and have used often. The watch was relatively inexpensive and in nice nick so I thought I'd take the chance. As usual he didn't let me down.

Otherwise, I don't buy them unless I can hold them in my hand first. There's too many turds out there who will take your money without a second thought or a single moment's remorse. Bastards.... there's no hole deep enough for throwing them in.
