Shotgun!

LOL. AWD burnouts are a thing with the winter tires or the all season Continentals, but once the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires go on at the end of the month I'd likely break an axel or smoke the clutch before the tires spin. It's good that I'm all about the cornering speeds anyway - that's why in 41,000 miles over 42 month lifetime of ownership my average gas mileage is 26.6 MPG, but I've been through 3 sets of tires while hugging the mountain curves in Colorado...

Yeah, Subaru WRX all wheel drive, about 270hp turbocharged (0-60 in about 5 seconds, over 1G in cornering at fast speeds, on a hotdog and hamburger budget).

Sleep Number bed with adjustable base, for what I would rather have spent on a watch instead.

But my girl starts chemo tomorrow, so her comfort comes first.

Finally, I have one of my grail drum sets: a German-built, Sonor Vintage 4 piece kit in the now discontinued Black Onyx veneer finish, which I love. Introduced in 2015, the Vintage Series pays deep respect to the Sonor kits from the 1950’s and 60’s down to the teardrop lugs and rounded (rather than 45 degree) bearing edges. The beech shells are simply incredible with fatter and warmer tones than maple drums, which I have played for over 40 years. The 3-piece 22/13/16 shell pack was NOS and was transferred from Nova Scotia to Vancouver at no cost to me. Coincidentally, a NOS matching snare happened to be sitting at my local drum shop, who arranged the cross-country transfer.

What I saved as compared to a brand new kit will pay for the Omega I’m now jonesing for: a SS 168.017...It’s all about priorities!

I bought this today to "stream" movies in my home theater. Its probably too hi end as its gamers kit but it has "optical out" as I split the signal, hdmi only carries the image and run sound via optical.

Nice setup! My brother the engineer and I got way into the weeds one day on projector lamp specs and special paints etc for such a purpose. Always nice to have a techy in the family. He covers all things tech. Being in aviation, I'm the machine guy fornfor all nuts bolts, gears, and anything that burns fuel (also contracts and business best practices since I have that degree too). Additionally we have a CNC machinist/Army reservist, a utility Lineman that aced every course he took while studying to be a pharmacist (surprise baby changed his plans) and a talented architect working in historical preservation for some fortune 100 companies. A proud brother am I.

Can you tell I'm on my Nth cup of coffee?!

You are a lucky guy with your connections. I am a humble diy enthusiast. I spent 8 hours on Friday fitting a making a shutter storm proof.
A carpenter would have taken about an hour !

Perhaps a carpenter would have, but all you would've ended up with is a done job. See, your way earned you skills and methods in addition to the job done. I've even found value in past projects failing miserably and having someone else ultimately do it the right way. But I still learned how NOT to do it!

For the record, I think your set-up looks boss!

Thank you and very true.

Here is a little more info on the "Boss" system.
It now runs as a 6 channel movie system rather than just music , incorporating four power amps.
Three of the power amps I made plus the dedicated power supply for the cd player.
Everything except the power amps and electrostats runs through an auto transformer for protection.

Thanks again for your insightful comments, I had never looked at it that way and was always embarrassed by the time it had taken me to do a job and get it right.
You see I don't even need coffee to get me started !!!

My wife did radiation therapy for breast cancer so I'm wearing a yellow Live Strong band for her. All the news is good (great actually) but we hold our breath for 4 years now. PM me your address and I'll send one for her. I only have the smaller size left.

I bought this super fun inexpensive RC car to enjoy with the kids. I am amazed how far the technology has come since I had an RC as a kid. It was 3 times the price but 1/5 the performance of this guy. It is very fast, jumps well, and can take a beating. It is a Wltoys 12428.

Here is a photo of it jumping, but it is a blur.
