@Syrte the post that you posted 19 minutes ago was from another time. We no longer have lady watch lovers. We have gender neutral watch lovers. Or maybe gender fluid watch lovers?

I guess you must be hinting at gender politics in the US after the Weinstein scandal.
But I initially understood it as you telling me I’m « gender fluid » or « gender neutral »?? 😕
As a woman I feel I have the right to be recognized as one— even though I refuse to post any flesh on line. And I am not disputing your manhood either.

As for the underlying political issue, I find it 1/ too complicated and 2/ not my job to address on a watch forum, and at least I would pray you not to drag this bubbly and happy thread into a bitter political feud. I don’t think it’s fair to the people who have so far participated.

@Syrte I think your bump was a good reminder that we do have women collectors on the OF as well. 👍

I certainly have been a bit silly with a few macho orientated photos in the past and even recently:whipped:.

So welcome to the new "girl" members and Syrte please do make sure the "boys" behave themselves (me included)😉😀

Fair play but if I had put "Men of the World Unite!" I would have been condemned.

A bump for this thread as I’ve noticed we’ve had several females members join the forum in the past couple of years— perhaps they should join this happy thread and post a few wrist shots?
@Otterina @melanieux @connieseamaster @mrs_LA this thread is for you too 👍
And for all the gentlemen who wish to contribute!

Shall we revive this bubbly thread— and Will any lady lurkers join the fray?

Here are some of my more recent wears. With wars raging around the world and a lot of things going on in my life I haven’t had the heart to post much but I still wear my watches. None Omega though.

It seems to me lately that all the testerone fuelled males on the web want a Moonswatch, or anything pre-dating a moon watch.

😉

It's a pleasure to see other options here (on the forum in general), especially from the ladies section showing us other variations of vintage watches.

I was out of town last week and my daughter happened to find a ‘lost’ Omega of mine; this one that had ended up in a small wooden box in the sitting room. I told her she could wear it for as long as she wished…😗

Well, she’s been wearing it ever since!

She must have the rare, elusive, and desirable gene:

Of course, she had to include her kitten in these photos she sent me, since she knows we’re both obsessed with the 13 week-old AND the 81 year-old Naiad CK2111!

WOW! Congrats on your lovely daughter, and one who’s got good taste for a beautiful watch. Even the pigskin strap looks perfect! 👍

I think you can kiss the watch good bye and for a good cause, she deserves it at least as much as you do. 😀
better get it serviced for her thought, make sure to tell her not to wear it in rainy weather, and that she should never put hand cream or perfume when she’s wearing it— all those products muT be applied BEFORE she straps the watch on, otherwise there’s risks of ingress through the crown.
That may be a Naiad but it’s not been water resistant for decades.

I just skimmed over this thread which was begun about 6 years ago. And I didn’t see anything like the subject watch which is now my wife’s, but originally was bought in San Francisco by her late grandmother, circa 1895. It is a 6-size Elgin in a gold filled hunter case, decorated with rose gold, white gold, and green gold appliqué. Making it a four colour gold watch, the case being yellow gold. Some time in the 1920s, after she and her family moved to Carstairs, Alberta (Canada), she was wearing this watch one day when she was unceremoniously bucked off the horse she was riding!

@dougiedude I’m willing to bet good money it looks better on her wrist anyway 😀 Cool Dad you are Sir…there was more chance of hell freezing over than of me being able to keep something cool of my Dads.

Thank you, Silvia! When she sent me the first pic of a gorgeous vintage watch on a young and feminine wrist it made me think of you and all of your WRUW posts 👍😀

yes, I told her it was marketed in 1940 as one of the first ‘waterproof’ watches, but now over 80 years later, you don’t want to get it wet or damp… and yes, a service would certainly provide some insurance, though not assurance 😉

I really appreciate the warning about perfumes and lotions… Never thought about that!

Yes, the watch has finally found its ’sweet spot’ 😁, thank you!!

Thanks for the flattering comparison, and glad to think I could help with a bit of a feminine touch. 😀
