Am considering whether to buy this Omega 30mm. Your opinions? (Now w/ another candidate added)

Hello again.

After last month's redial misadventure (https://omegaforums.net/threads/this-has-to-be-a-redial-right.92870/), I have decided to do the smart thing this time around and ask here before I buy.

The stats:
Ref. no.: 2639-4
Caliber: 266
Year of manufacture: 1954

The watch has recently been serviced according to the seller. The price is the equivalent of USD 977 (plus shipping).

Obviously, I'm anxious to know whether the dial looks legit, and whether the case looks overly polished. I'd also like to know whether you think the price is reasonable. Beyond that, anything else you can tell me about this particular watch (good or bad), will be greatly appreciated.

Not one decent picture of the dial, face on, filtered lighting. Very difficult to make a meaningful comment. The case looks polished. 977 USD? Really? Must be from a dealer. I would have preferred to see it before it got so highly “processed”.

So, just to recap:

Incorrect hands, questionable case, overpriced.

I sure know how to pick 'em.

I believe this reference is 36mm which is a decent size, but not truly one of the jumbo references. Better photos are needed to judge the dial, since zooming in seems to show stains and damage. The case is overly shiny and reflective , making me concerned about polishing, so again better photos are needed. Seconds hand is wrong.

Would have to be a really excellent example to justify the asking price.

ALL of the hands are incorrect, lumed dial and un-lumed hour and minute hands. Maybe a $400 watch.

Based on the feedback I received in this thread, I have decided to keep searching.

I have also made some additions to my list of "Questions I Must Ask the Seller When I First Contact Them".

I'm a noob, too, and I like these threads as opportunities to learn when more experienced collectors weigh in. Thanks for posting.
It would be nice if these last photos were higher resolution. If someone sends you blurry photos, it might not be a good sign.

Yeah, I know. I've had the same thought - and would also like to see some better, more hi-res, pictures from the seller. Still, if these photos show any obvious red flags (e.g. incorrect dial, hands …), why even bother asking the seller for better pics?
