·Thank you! I’m so thrilled with it. Years ago, I sold an Omega for my mother that was a past family members. I hated letting it go. Since then, I have been keeping an eye out. Tonight, the dream came true! I think that the face is called “salmon” color, although it looks like an old copper penny. It also must be a “thumper” as it thumps when I shake it. It’s been keeping perfect time! I’m still searching, but haven’t come across any pictures of one like it yet. I’m just so happy!!!

Do you have more pictures, of the caseback?
If its around 33mm and with a snap back its probably as stated before a 2375 from mid 40's, very nice model.
If its the bigger 35mm model with screwed down caseback its probably a ref 2638.

·Are you sure that it is a salmon/copper coloured dial and not just very even, dark caramel discolouration? There looks to be slight haloing around the numbers and hour dots, but then again the crystal is too scratched to be sure of much. Either way it's the bargain of the week.

·The reason I suggest discolouration is the lack of contrast between the Omega logo and chapter ring and the dial, it doesn't lend itself to telling the time easily or advertising the brand. Of course, you have the watch in hand so are best positioned to judge.

·If that’s not patina that is quite interesting although I’ve come across a few that were severely yellowed from time and the elements but who knows I’m no expert. Very nice find for 15 bucks I was on a decent run for a while finding some pieces for a few months but now that more people are out and about seems to be less common for me now. Good on you it’ll be great with a cleaned crystal and service enjoy.

·Here are more photos. I took the band off to gently clean it with a dry toothpick and Q-tip. I don’t know if it should get wet at all and I’m afraid to chance it. I’m sure that it resists water having survived all of these years! Maybe the browning is patina, I’m not educated enough to say other than the hours I’ve spent looking at them on the internet trying to find this one. Pictures make it difficult to see the true color. You guys are truly awesome for giving your opinions and advice. Would having the back opened for the serial number tell me exactly what I have?

·What a great score. You may have noted by now that almost no one around here would describe the color change on your watch's dial—and it's hard to image that the dial was ever originally ever close to that color; the haloing around the indices seems to confirm that—as undesirable. That kind of rich, even patina is sought after. Good eye; get it serviced by a local independent watchmaker and be delighted by it for the rest of your life. Don't let it get sent to Omega for service, please. Local, independent—ask for recommendations here.

·Oh, meant to say: Not that I'm any kind of expert, but getting a replacement crystal for an old Omega watch can be surprisingly easy and affordable. It makes a huge difference. My old beat-up Seamaster looks (to me) like one million US dollars now.
