Hi All,

I'm considering purchasing an Air King 5506. Price offered U$D 1,500
The case is in poor shape and the dial is obviously damaged.

Is USD 1,500 fair to too much?

What did such damage to the lugs? Did they leave a cheap stretchy band on an air king? Too bad cause those can be cool little rolexes to come across.

The case is pretty rough but the dial damage bis my biggest concern.

The movement is worth that much if not more

You can replace the case and dial for about $800 or less maybe. Is it running?

Looks like a money pit to me. Pass.
Money pit indeed. If I can negotiate a very attractive price (USD500-700) I'll reconsider.

Thanks for the help!

Going against popular opinion, I made the purchase for USD1,000 and had it serviced.

All things considered, not bad!

Good for you man. It’s always good to ask for advice and assistance from those who know more but in the end you are the one who’s going to wear it. Looks cool enjoy.

You make a smart buy. The Air Kings have room to grow in value...and the 1530 movement is a solid one.
