I just made a deal for a 2021 Speedmaster w/ cal.3861 on an Omega strap and deployant. Since this is going to be my everyday watch, I'm sure I'll prefer wearing it on a bracelet. Any thoughts or experience with either the Uncle Seiko or Forstner, when available, flat link bracelets? Thank you, Miki
My first option would be new Speedmaster OEM bracelet. If you want flat link, then I'd choose Forstner (I have US and F). They say that it will fit with 1,5mm spring bars included.
Before I jump into a Forstner Flat link for my new Speedy, I'd like to know if I can buy an the Omega bracelet and ends made for my watch? I'll bet bet it's pricey but I can't find it, help!
You can. Here you go: https://www.oysterinfo.de/en/omega-flat-link-bracelet/ But for the end links go to Uncle Seiko and get his for the proper fit. Follow my previous threads on here for instruction on how to do this.
You could spend $750+ for the Omega flat link bracelet that nearly but not quite fits or spend $90 for an Uncle Seiko flat link that fits just fine. The Forstner one is good too of course but the SELs do make fitment slightly less guaranteed. The 1450 bracelets (again both US and Fostner offer one I believe) are also worth a look though those too use SELs so can have fitment complications.
I have a couple Uncle Seikos for my 1861, including the flat link. Love em both. The clasp seems to scratch a little easier than the OEM, but for $95 I don't mind and wear my watch everyday. I rarely wear it on the OEM bracelet. It's worth trying one for $95.
Thanx to all for your well considered advise. I'll let you know which bracelet I end up buying but the Uncle Seiko is lookin' good
Has anyone seen the new 2021 version of the Forstner end links in person? I think they have only been out for a week or two, but maybe someone ordered and received theirs already.
