Affordable Bracelet Options for Vintage Omega Seamaster

Hi all,

I've been a member of the forum for a few years now and have enjoyed everyone's posts as I've looked for a particular Seamaster: a 168.022 with a non-luminous dial. After a couple years, I managed to find one in solid condition with a fairly sharp case.

While looking for potential bracelets/straps, I noticed the FOIS and 168.022 shared some bracelet options. When I saw ConElPueblo had posted a photo of his FOIS on a cheap oyster bracelet from eBay, I decided to give it a try. I attached a photo (I hope it attached correctly lol), and I think it fits the watch great. So if anyone is looking for bracelet options for a 168.022/166.028 that are cheaper than Omega bracelets, I think this is solid (https://www.ebay.com/itm/1685608088...XANB9M&hash=item273f01d3a8:g:AoUAAeSwaTJqY4Ux).

I am trying to find a reliable watchmaker to service this and would really appreciate any recommendations in the Chicago or Atlanta area. I've searched these forums already, and I've seen MJ in Glenview recommended for the Chicago area, but I'm in the south side without a car, so I'd prefer something accessible by public transit (tight restrictions, I know). As far as Atlanta recommendations, anybody within a few hours of the city by car would be perfect. I've seen a couple positive comments here for Womble watch in Marietta, but the comments are slightly older, so I thought I'd screen for any other recs. Thanks so much in advance!

I’m sure someone will be able to recommend a good watchmaker but if you don’t get a response within a few days, just bump your thread.

I like the bracelet and have noted the eBay link.

Very occasionally I will look out for an original bracelet - a brick bracelet for my 168.017, for example - but I’m also pretty happy with an ‘aftermarket’ bracelet - in pretty much the same way as I might but a new strap.

It's About Time in Jones Creek has serviced several of my watches. They have an Omega parts account, should any parts be necessary (provided they're still available).
