Universal dials are notoriously sketchy, but this one makes me wonder. The round-top 3 in the hour register; the fact that the 1/5 second track is almost overlapping the subdials; and maybe it is just the photo angle but the recorder subdial looks closer to the edge at 7 than at 2 and the gap between Universal Geneve looks closer to the edge of the subdial at the end than the beginning.

Round 3 in hour minute recorder is fine. However, although perfect in all respects, it looks like a later dial (late 40s / early 50s), and not an early mid 40s as serial on case indicates. The other issue I have is hour/minute hands. They look to be the correct shape and maybe the angle of photo is a little deceiving, however, they lack the rounded beveled profile and almost look as if they have been flattened. Edges as well AS profile should be smooth and rounded. I may be mistaken, but they look like cheap replacements (pressed with a die).
