Haha. Sorry. Like I've said. Normally I dont send PM's. It just dont feel right somehow... It feels like people can't trust me when I give advice about a particular watch when I really have a double agenda by selling PM watches. My reputation on OF is more important...

Of course. Just meant as a joke.

(But if you have what I’m looking for some other time... let me know 😗)

To complete the thread. Raymond also bought the 165027. From now on I'm going to send everybody PM'S. The hell with my reputation... 😁

Also? There was more the one watch on offer?

Shabbaz, this place is all about helping, you helped me through my 120 purchase without any regard to ones you wanted to sell off. As you said, you went crazy and bought too many. Raymond, out of the goodness of his heart has offered to help you through the psychosis and relieve you of your burden....this is a place of healing.

I think it’s geniune except for the hands. Bezel looks “too good”, true, but not impossible and the pearl looks correct. Mine came with replacement hands, so it happens. Price is already up to $1.5k so it’s pushing the value of good ones with all original parts.

@Shabbaz has a few I think he is moving along, you should reach out and see if you want one with no guess work or doubt.
I actually felt very confident identifying fake bezels on Seamaster 120 models until I saw this one on the bay. After contacting the seller he approved it is aftermarket and non-OEM

Holy crap! Even that pearl looks vintage. The fakers are getting good

I've said it before and I'm saying it again. These bezels are quite fragile and fade quite fast. So if the watch looks like it had a life the chances that the bezel is like NOS are slim to 0. At least this is my opinion. It's so easy nowadays to buy a aftermarket 120 bezel which is so hard to detect. But I would look at the watch as a whole and then ask myself if it all belongs together. Especially if the outerrim of the bezel is black. These bezels got bumped against doors, tables, etc. I hope this helps for new buyers.

Yep. That’s why I am always suspicious if things look too good to be true.
Especially for parts like bezels....which are installed outside on the watch case.....on a 50 year old watch.
Think about it

Totally agreed. That always gets me on the Speedy threads where someone will scream “service dial” when the bezel and case are nicked up and the dial is clean. Mine has a trashed bezel and dinged up case (my doing), and the dial is pretty minty....always keep my seals fresh, never swim in it, and inside the case

I agree, the wholistic picture of the watch is important. But the mint ones do exist 😀. Looking closely on the bezels font it is still quite “easy” to detect the difference between real and fake.. That is why it is important to always ask for high resolution and clear pictures.. it is in details.

When I found this one (for my friend unfortunately ) I thought it was fake at first glance. But than looking deeper at the whole watch, dial, hands, case it was obvious that the watch was real deal..

Keep up a good work!
