I have an Omega seamaster automatic from the late 60s. When looking through all the types in guide it is hard to find an exact match. It is like a 30 with the two II for the twelve and single I for the other numbers. No calendar function. The original strap was broken and it badly needs serviced but to replace the strap and refurb costs a lot of money. Its a nice watch and I wear it daily. Is it worth getting done up? Any idea where best to send it? Thanks.

If you can upload some pictures you’ll get much better feedback.

Definitely worth the cost of a service. We would need to see inside the watch and caseback to advise precise model and movement calibre but its a nice enough watch.

That bracelet could have some decent value too. What's the numbers inside the bracelet clasp? And numbers on curved end links

Let us know where you are in the world and someone will be able let you know of service centres nearby

Edit.
If I had to guess I would say it is possibly ref CK14704 or ref 165.002

Yeah looks like a pre-DeVille.

Recommendations for a service will depend where you are. If you’re in the UK I can recommend watchmakers.

The bracelet looks like a 7912 or 1035. Even broken these have significant value so don’t throw it out!

Thanks for the advice, The bracelet is gone. That is a cheap bracelet on it. My dad snapped the original bracelet when he was confused post CVA and threw it out in the hospital. We were lucky we saved the watch itself. I cant see any numbers anywhere. Maybe they were on the original bracelet. I am in Inverness. Where should I send it and how much would it cost for a refurb which would include a new bracelet ( original OR alternative?) . Cheers

Get the watch serviced by independent watchmaker with Omega parts account. Dont worry about bracelet right now when you get the info inside Caseback at service the period correct bracelet/endlink options can be identified and you can look around they are findable Beads of Rice Omega bracelet from that era findable for $200-250 range. Many people like to wear on leather strap they came with leather too so there is no right or wrong option

Not sure what you mean by a refurb. The watch condition looks OK. Can't tell from the photos about the crystal so maybe budget for a replacement and then just a service and if you really want then a very light clean and polish.

Costs can vary but allow £200 - £300 unless major parts are required.

I'm not up in Scotland but other members are and sure someone will be along to recommend a watchmaker. I think @Alpha might be up there somewhere but might just be my imagination

Just get a nice leather strap on it and it will be good to go

Thanks for the advice. I just thought it needed a refurb/ going over/ service and the strap replaced. Wasnt sure if it needed a new Omega bracelet or if there are Omega leather ones. For 250-300 to get it back working and looking well would be worth it. I would like to pass it on when I pass on.

Is the bracelet currently on the watch an Omega bracelet? Depending on where / how it broke, you might just need to replace springbar or pin.

I’d suggest WatchGuy or Mitka for a clean and service.
They won’t be able to source a bracelet for you though.

Either keep it on the bracelet it has, put it on a nice leather or get a vintage Omega beads of rice bracelet with no. 70 Endlinks for around £200.

Do you have some more pictures of the bracelet that’s on it? It sure looks like an Omega flatlink (or is that an old photo before the bracelet broke?)

I was thinking it might be a 1168. More pics would be great.

Listen to this - the bracelet probably carries more value than the watch.
