@abrod520

I see your point, it actually looks like a narrow T dial, at least in terms of the Font of the Speedmaster and AML according to MWO. Considering close T went out at 66.. Then again MWO says the close t and wide t have the same Speedmaster font but the pictures clearly show some difference in the S. Is this a mfg variance? Service dial? I do not think its a redial though as the IMHO odd positioning of the professional is correct in regards to the Omega logo.

At least from the MWO standpoint its a correct Wide T dial. The E and G in Omega are correct

Ooh I recognise that watch!

If it's yours, apologies for not looking further into where on the site it came from, I just picked it up from Google Images

I agree, which is what I was trying to say when I wrote that it has all of the hallmarks of genuine Omega (or supplier etc) printing. That's why I think it may be a service dial. I'm in the office and can't consult MWO, but I don't see anything too similar on Speedmaster101. The closest I can find is the font on one of the pre-professional 321 service dials

Goodness I like this forum. My MWO book is sitting in a different town at the moment unfortunately (mid move). I will have to consult it to once I have the watch. I don't don't any of the cropping but there could be minor variations in the photos too. Best to look at in the hand I suspect.

Not much to add. The dial seems a bit odd. I'm not a huge fan of the mismatched hour and minute hands. That puts me on alert.

Hope it works out @WYO_Watch !

The back story on it was reasonable, and the guy ended up cutting me a bit of a deal knowing there was going to be some work involved. I am also hopeful that he cut it enough that I can get it back to where it should be. Thanks for the support 👍 but in all reality I believe some of your posts have prompted my desire for vintage speedies so... maybe you are the person I want supporting me 😉

Well gang - the watch has arrived. So far I am quite pleased by the condition. Watch arrived running and appears to be keeping great time. Unfortunately it is not an original Omega bracelet (Spiedel & too tight at that).

I attempted to take some better photos of the writing and dial. Maybe it will be easier to tell what's going on @abrod520 @Foo2rama

Can you do a shot of the T Swiss Made T?
If the above wasn't a great shot - here is another couple. @abrod520

I asked for 7 days to look things over, so I appreciate the help! Wish I had my MWO book... 😡

Well the left T and the right T look like they're both tilted a bit clockwise, but that matches what I have on my 145.022-69

The spacing in 'SWISS' is a bit different too, but a detail like this would likely not be recreated. I think your dial is genuine, but either a service dial of some sort, or possibly redone in the text. Also look at the tip of the 'd' in Speedmaster, compared to the others, in my previous post - it lands between the M and E in OMEGA, where most Speedmasters have it landing somewhere in the middle of the E. Again though, the font on the subdials is correct, so I can't say for sure what's up.

I really appreciate the help on this. If it's a service dial or redone text, I am sure that drops the value quite a bit. I will potentially wait for some more opinions before I make the decision. I have a bit of rose colored glasses at the moment because I simply love the look - but I don't want to be upside down in it from the start line.

Here's my same Speedy model. Sorry that the quality of pictures aren't better, but I hope they might assist you in doing a comparison.

They really do. I definitely see what everyone is talking about regarding the d touching the corner of the E in Omega vs. hitting it more in the middle.

The crazy thing is that we have identical T Swiss Made T. They line up perfectly with the markers on your watch as well as mine.

What I think it comes down to is this: If you paid a premium for this watch, then maybe return it.... but if you got it for a good deal in the current market, why not keep it - especially since you said you like it - and enjoy it as a curiosity?

I have no idea what it is, but if it's a fake, consider me fooled.

And if you do keep it, be glad you didn't buy this one (which just popped up on eBay)!!!!!!!

It is certainly sound advice - IF - I got a good deal 😕 I got it a touch less than it was sold for on eBay $7.7 and am thinking a service, some hands, a bracelet, and extract are in order. So I really need to price those I guess before I can really know.

I just don't want to be upside down if I can't keep it in 4 months. Thanks everyone for participating in the dial mystery! I really do appreciate all the help.

I just stumbled upon that listing... @abrod520 wowza. It makes my look quite nice 👍

Also anyone from across the pond? I am thinking I would like to have the extract of this piece, unless someone can tell me why I shouldn't.

From my understanding they aren't that expensive and likely add a bit of value (or peace of mind). I notice that quite a few of the older 321s have extracts here. Unfortunately, the I can't order one being from the states. Any solutions for me here?
