Advice on this Polerouter Jet

I was impulsive and bought this Polerouter without asking the experts first. Not smart but it’s done. Does it look like a decent piece?

I can take it if I screwed up. Better to know the truth.

I appreciate any thoughts you have.

Looks good to me from outside. Hope the movement looks as nice.

Welcome to the Polerouter Jet Club.

You will now need to sing the Club’s anthem.

Please show us more of this fine watch soon.

Cool. I don’t have it in hand yet. I'll post some glamour shots when I do.

Meant to follow up on this...

The seller misrepresented the condition of its movement. He said it could use a service but didn’t say that the date wouldn’t change at all or that there was an obvious rattling of something loose inside. I debated reselling it with an honest appraisal of its condition, or fixing it. I decided to take it to a watchmaker I trust who is reasonably priced. He said a service will fix the date and he can source the part to fix the self-winding mechanism. $150 and and maybe I’ll get it back in 2017.

The exterior is in excellent condition and hopefully I’ll end up with a very nice watch and won’t have paid too much over value on it.

Lesson learned. $500 is my self-imposed limit on doing something impulsive and possibly dumb. I’m not made out of money, for sure, but I can eat a $500 mistake.

There was no misrepresentation as far as I am aware. It even had a signed crystal ! It ran and was in very good aesthetic condition with some probs with auto mechanism. Not really my thing but well worth fixing. I did not bother testing everything, It was listed on eBay as spares or repair.

I wish I’d taken pictures before I gave it up for service. It looks great. If the watchmaker can fix it up at the price he quoted then the end result will be fine and I’ll have learned to ask more questions and trust less.
