I have the opportunity to buy this super precision explorer. Please give me more info on it as I can't find anything online. It houses a 1530 with a butterfly rotor.

Need better pics. I suspect the dial is not original.

I wish I could get better pics but the seller was impatient with me. Hopefully someone can give some advise as to if its an all original watch.

Dont get pushed into buying, aggressive sales behavior smells like something is wrong. You are the one with the money.

I can not find that face in white except on an airking, although that dial exists in black but without the bezel. Crown looks wrong. My guess would be @1963 Explorer Dress watch for the US and Canadian market with a different dial and crown. An earlier watch would have a thinner bezel based on what I could find on it. Not an expert by any means just doing some basic digging.

But if they guy was pushy walk away.

The guy wasn't pushing me to buy it but he was being impatient while I was looking at it.

I think I'll pass this one, save up a couple of grand and get myself a sub

I suspect this watch doesn't have a caliber 1530 in it. More likely an earlier caliber 1036. OBSOLETE, Don't buy it unless he guarantees the movement is from the 1500 series. With the introduction of what is known as the Explorer 1, Explorer was a name applied ONLY to the dials on that specific model! This is an earlier version, produced when Rolex stamped the year of production inside the case back! Have him send you pictures of the movement clearly showing the caliber, and inside the case back. And while he's at it, also pictures of the case edge between the lugs on both sides showing the model number and serial number. This watch is aimed at someone who has NO IDEA what he's looking at, in my opinion.

I got him to open it up and I'm sure that this is the movement that was in there. Pic below for reference.
