Advice on selling my 1975 Omega gold watch

Hello to the members, many thanks for accepting me.

I was gifted an Omega set when my grandad passed away, he was an employee of Shell and after twenty five years they presented him with a gold watch. He may have worn it, if he did the unmarked condition shows he did not wear it often?

How would I go about selling it, do I sell as a package and in the Garrads of London box it came in with the original leather straps, or am I best off to split the parts?

It dates to 1967 or so ?

Regards,

Roy

The stretchy bracelet is probably gold plated and should be removed to prevent the spring loaded end links from chewing out the lugs any further. It's value is minimal unless its solid gold.

Put the original Omega strap/buckle on the watch and sell it in the case.

Keep the Shell pins as a memento of your grandfather.

What value can I put on this watch?

Do you really need the estimated ( for a non Gold , but plated/ capped) $ 500 plus something for the box/story , instead of getting and keeping Grand Dad's watch as a family heirloom ?

Is the back engraved with Grand Dads name? They often were so in the day. That would be hard for me to sell. But certainly only for you to decide.

Easiest place to sell it's ebay because you can start selling from the start. On the forums you will need a little more time to be able to sell. good luck with your sell.

Sell it all together. Complete sets are easier/faster to sell.

Make sure you get it authenticated as well from a jeweler. You and I both know it's genuine, but watch buyers are afraid of getting a fake. Spending $50 at a local jeweler is going to make it easier to sell the watch. Add the fifty bucks to the total cost of the watch.
