Advice on Omega Seamaster Deville

Hi All,

I'm new to collecting vintage Omegas so I was hoping to get an education/help from members of the forum. I know a seller that has several vintage Omegas and I'll start a thread for each one I am potentially interested in. This is the sixth one. Attached are some pics that are available and below is the information the seller has provided. Does this raise any red flags for anyone? And if this seems legit, what would be a fair price to offer (please be sincere in this feedback - I want to offer the seller a realistic price but one that is not unfair to me). Thanks!

Info:
Omega Seamaster Deville - stainless steel strap, automatic chronograph movement, made in Switzerland around 1966-1967:
  • sea horse engraved case back, standard case size 34.5cm (excluding crown), case - crown - original stainless steel, quite beautiful
  • the original Omega automatic, with a date calendar, the mechanism runs well
  • the original dial is opaque, gleaming, and boldly timeless
Watches have beautiful, original and genuine design and form (including the band), running consistently and on time.

It all looks legit apart from the fact it's not a chronograph!

We need to know a few things though;

where you are in the world (watches tend to be more expensive in the UK for instance than the US).

Is the seller a dealer? Those pictures looks awfully nice for an uneducated seller.

Is the watch serviced?

Prices. We need to know prices as anything is a good deal if the numbers are right.

I presume all those adjectives are the seller's and not yours? 😁

It does look nice though. I love that champagne-dial aging effect. It's a 17 jewel movement which means it's a 560 or 563 movement for the US market, the reduced jewel count being for customs duty reasons. Don't let that put you off as it's still a high-quality movement. Everything appears correct and in good order. The crystal has the Omega symbol and is probably original to the watch. Very slight dial spotting in the lower half which wouldn't be noticeable except very close up. Worth going for depending on the price. I'm a bit out of touch with these and US market values aren't quite the same as here in the UK, so can't offer any suggestions beyond saying I don't see nearly as many nice SMDVs as I used to.
