I am new these forums and to vintage constellations.

I am thinking of purchasing this piece and was wondering if i can get any advice?

Anything i should be concerned about?

Looks like a 168.017. Some losses on the dial, and some signs of corrosion around the caseback gasket, are the only problems I can spot in these photos. And hands look a trifle thick for this variant. But in your position I would ask for more complete and better lit photos (case from sides and at angles, movement in different positions, lugs without straps and, especially, inner caseback) before making an evaluation.

 

Thanks for the feedback. Yes it is a 168.017. These are the extra photos i could get.

 

The shiny and brushed surfaces all look correct, but the sides of the bezel and the chamfer between the top and sides of the case look a bit rounded and ill-defined. I would say the case has been repolished by someone who know what they were doing. You should probably await a second opinion from a more experienced collector, but if you are happy with the way the watch looks despite its imperfections then it's a matter of whether the price is right.

Nothing useful I can tell you about the movement, I'm afraid.

 

(also, strap is too wide, and it needs a new gasket).

 

I would be worried about the dial continuing to deteriorate. That would rapidly get ugly, if it continues.
