Advice on choosing a Constellation please

Hello all!

I am still looking for my first vintage Omega. I have moved from ch24 to ebay as many of you suggested and I its true that the price is much better. In any case I have decided to go for a more conservative budget (300$-800$) for my first one and I have these options. Could you please give me your opinion about them? Thank you very much!

I'm not a C case guy, so I'll leave the comments to our resident experts on those. What I will say is that it's very likely that all three of these watches will need servicing so I would budget another $300-$500, and possibly more if movement parts are required, in addition to the purchase price.

Thank you all for your answers 😀. @theluckyluke could you please tell me where can I find that private sales section? I am quite new on this and I couldnt find it in the forum.

Also, a friend of mine send me this piece. I know its not a constellation but may works as first experience buying vintage Omega at Ebay, no? My reasoning is that is quartz so I guess that it wouldn't require an expensive servicing, the watch I guess is polished because is super shiny but honestly I don't mind that If its still preserving the gold plate and price-wise, seems fair no? Specially, taking in consideration I spent 315 € in the snoopy moonphase XD

I would recommend saving a bit more and putting this into a mechanical movement. You have various entry level pieces around or slightly above this price, with much more attractive designs in my opinion.

Browse the forum a bit and you will get some inspiration. Watches from the 50s and 60s are splendid and some of the designs are very attractive. I would rather go for these than an entry level polished quartz.

Agreed. Save a little more and buy a vintage Omega with a mechanical movement instead of quartz. And avoid gold plated watches. Gold capped is fine, but not gold plated.
