Am I fool? Cheap Seamaster Automatic Cal 1210

It’s not worth even half the price.

It’s not a sought after model, the movement looks poor and isn’t working, the case is poor (the gold plate has worn off in places) and I’m not sure the caseback is correct. It’s a money pit and at the end of it, it will still be a below average watch.

Stay away.

We could continue to pick this watch apart, e.g. wrong hands, etc. This is not a watch for restoration. It might possibly be used for parts, but then the question becomes ... which parts would even be worth using?

This is one that I, lover of ratwatches, would walk away from at a quarter of the listed price. One could get a decent 55x movement and case for that price. The 10xxx stuff while decent enough was too troubled by cost cutting during the quartz crisis to be anything more than a curiosity. The only saving grace is they do not have pin lever escapements. I think they do use the offset roskcof(sp) sweep second drive.
