Advice on £3 Omega Constellation watch

Based on all of the photos, the discoloration may just be the shadow of the phone taking the photo.
I do get the sense that this Constellation design is not particularly desirable. However, I don't think you can beat that price.

I believe they were talking about the discoloration around the date and the center pinion. These are most definitely not from a shadow.

No doubt that the grey area to the bottom of the dial is the phone shadowing, but the brownish spots around the date window and center isn't 😉

Shows you how much I was paying attention.

The staining also runs most of the way around the dial edge, and gets into the minute track between 11 and 1. This thing must have gone diving at some point. Will be interesting to see if the movement is a hunk of rust,

Its probably WD40 seeping through from the movement from when the previous owner decided to lubricate it themselves. Its really pretty junky but I too would have bought it at that price. Then tried to figure out just what the hell I was going to do with it.

Yes there is a brown shadow around centre and on the square date box but the rest of the face is white .

That’s a good reply as someone has taken the back off the watch as it’s on at an angle .

I've seen a couple like this sell for about USD$400.

You need to pop the back and see if it's a real 196.0360 and whether it's only a flat battery and worth fixing.

Although it's not a "collector" watch, there are still people who just like the look and buy them.

Google "Omega Constellation 196.0360" and find completed auctions/sales etc to get an idea of value.

I got one of these for my wife, in good condition they sell for around $500, and are great watches for a woman that doesn't want to deal with a mechanical movement. My wife loves hers almost as much as her Apple watch!

Maybe you should do a charity raffle somewhere and put the first prize as an Omega Constellation, should get some money coming in for a good cause 😉

Good idea although they might be disappointed when they realise it doesn’t work .
I’m going to see if it can be fixed and go from there .
