Hello. I have this Eternamatic Super Kontiki 130FTP
(Cal.1489K) and want to source a replacement bezel insert to freshen up the watch’s look a little bit. Can you recommend a website or does anyone have one for sale. Any recommendations on where to buy the Gay Freres bracelet is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Luis,

Replacement bezels are hard to come by. I'm not sure I've ever seen a bezel for sale just by itself. Occasionally a used Super Kontiki case with bezel will come up for sale, condition of the bezel varying, and priced according to the rarity and the fact that the case and sometimes crystal are included. Additionally, the method for changing the bezel is different from any other watch I've encountered.

Super Kontiki bracelets are likewise rare. There is a Super Kontiki bracelet for sale on ebay from the UK but with the wrong endlinks. I've seen maybe 1-2 of the third generation bracelet (the one you need) with correct endlinks for sale over the past three or so years.

As you can probably tell from the above, there is most definitely NOT a robust parts trade for Super Kontikis. These parts are rare and usually only found on complete watches. In fact, the only parts that are relatively easy to find are movement parts and the crown. Crystals, cases, hands, bezels, and bracelets require a lot of time and patience to track down, are costly, and often in fairly used condition when you find them.

I hope that's not too discouraging. These are amazing watches, and part of what makes them amazing is their uncommonness. They are not Submariners with thousands of examples and ample parts available, for better or worse.

And just to add, we are all looking for those parts and accessories. So if you find one, buy it fast. 😁
