Considering purchasing. Price is 5592 USD. No pics of movement or service history but seller has a great history according to reviews.

Generally looking for an 80s datejust and new to rolexes so don’t know price points (though mid4k to 6k seems to be the constant).

TIA!

Come on man put a little effort in!

people are more than happy to help but simply saying, “advice needed, considering purchasing” is ridiculous.

What are your thoughts on it? Have you done any research? What do you like/dislike? What are your actual concerns? What is the price?

apologies; I have two young kids and it was all I could do to get the post up.

it’s listed at 5,592. Im looking for a mid 80s datejust, and there are a lot of great options out there but this one stands out which could be a byproduct of the pics feeling more IRL than the “floating in white space” of a lot of listed watches.

no pics of movement, but sure I could ask. I’m mostly versed in omegas (though still learning on that front) so Rolexes are very new to me.

my primary concerns are “is it overpriced” and “is it real/redone”?

5,592 what? If $US I would call it way overpriced, if what you show in the thread is what you get.

Depends on box and papers, last service etc. Go to watchrecon.com and search for the model. Should give you an idea of the asking prices on various watch forums. There are plenty of DJ’s out there.

$5500 US seems a lot for a 16014, especially with a silver dial.

Even in the UK where DJs are more expensive, you can easily find a grey dial 16014 with box, papers and warranty for that price.

The only way it’s half way reasonable if it’s from a dealer, with warranty and documented recent full service.

good to know and will adjust my search accordingly.

also edited the initial post so it was less of a drive by. Thanks for the insight.

HQ Milton are a good gauge of prices in the US (just bear in mind they sell as-is, so other dealers who offer full warranty and service often charge more).

Don't be drawn in by watches posing in boxes. Box sets for rolexes are a dime a dozen in my locale. Without certificate the boxes are just trinkets and have no connection to the watch offered. That watch looks to be about $2000 overpriced. Unserviced Datejusts run around $3300 to $3500 here in the tri-state area and I still think they are overpriced.
