Advice needed - Omega vintage dual tone dial

Hello guys,

I'm looking to buy this watch from Chrono 24, but I have a doubt concerning the caliber.
The seller says that the watch is from 1954, but I though this type of dial was typical during the second world war.
Could it be a rebuilt watch?
Thanks as always for your precious comments,

Leo

It is the correct dial, but the condition of dial, hands and case is hardly "very nice original condition". The dial has been cleaned, the hands are relumed and the case is quite polished. Crown is for a different reference.

Someone tried to wash the shield, if it has not been properly protected it will turn black.

Thanks, I get your points, how can you say the crown is not correct?

What do you mean by shield?

It is an Omega crown, but not the correct crown for that particular watch from that year. You can tell from the shape of the crown and knowledge about the crowns that Omega used in various watches over time.

Actually, would you go more for this one? I dislike the way they relumed the hands... this one is from ca 1944, with cal. 30T2.

Despite the similar dials they are two quite different references. The 2639 is 36mm big while this one is about 32-33mm it would seem. I like the design though the case is quite polished.

Thanks, you are right, this one is 32,5 mm while the other is 36 mm. I like both of them, they have the same price, probably this last one has more history (and the original crown)... but this lum??? what do you think about it? Isn't it a punch in the face? 🤦

“Punch in the face” for me, definitely. Wow, bad move…

I guess you could see about replacing the hands, if the price is right.

Not the original crown either 😀
