Got a good deal on this watch on the spot--took it home and realized the dial is off-centre. Any advice on if this is an easy/ worth it fix?

That’s not a good watch. It has been redialed and the case is very poor. Bracelet is also wrong.

It's worse than off-center. Can you return it?
Potentially yes. But what I’m trying to figure out is if it is an easy fix. Maybe this is why, but I got a steal on it..

Define steal?

Then again, even if it was £300 I’d rather not bother. It’s just hassle for a poor watch.

It was a fraction of what I see this reference number selling for even in bad condition, but it is a hassle so I think I will return it.

Or keep it ? If you like it wear and enjoy. Personally I would return .sell some old clutter out of the garage and put a little more towards an Original

For a collector, like many on this forum, a watch with a repainted dial like this one is worse than "bad condition." But if the dial doesn't bother you, maybe you should keep it. To get one in original condition would cost a lot more.

I still don't know what you mean by "off-center" BTW.

Look at the 12 and the 6, or the 3 and 9, they aren’t centered

Yeah it isnt centered. I guess someone messed around with the dial and movement. Would keep my hands off at that price.

If the dials off centre the dial feet could be broken. Another reason to avoid.

Just return it. This is an excellent example of you getting what you paid for. There's a reason (more than a few, actually) that it was cheap.

Do you mean the dial is rotated? It's hard to tell from photos because of parallax. If that's what you are saying, and you're sure, the dial feet are probably broken off.

Hi all, my name is Nicolas, I’m very new to the world of vintage watches but I’m looking to start my journey with an Omega Constellation pie pan crosshair. I’m still negotiating the price, but it’s likely to be around USD1300. I’ve noticed this watch comes in a wide range of different variations, and sometimes is tricky to know whether is a good deal or not. This is the watch I’m interested in right now.

The case seems heavily polished, specially on the back. I don’t know how much that affects the value. Any insight from you is really valuable for me! Thanks a lot!!!

Hello Nicolas
You should start a new thread if you have a watch to discuss. Go to top of Vintage section, tap new thread, and then start new thread with your title and photos. That is how to do it, not by adding on to another thread. More people will see the new thread and respond. Welcome to OF.
