Hi everyone,

I'm looking to get advice regarding my first ever Swiss watch purchase.

I work in sales and I want to commemorate my first ever large sale with an automatic Omega and have have fallen in love with the TV dial seamaster.

I've been looking at Ebay for some time and have noticed that prices vary so much, even for the same model and reference number.

My fear is getting a frankenwatch or a watch that isn't accurate, or other things that I don't know yet since I'm new to the game.

I'm in my 20s and people look at wrists a lot in my industry so getting a lovely vintage Omega would be amazing.

Let me know what you guys think of this watch I have my eye on. The price has me questioning some things since I see this same watch go for 1500 plus.

Ebay listing here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/8001010942...3d8&pg=4481478&_trksid=p4481478.c101506.m1851

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S I live in NYC so I could go to 47th street and hunt for one of these bad boys if you guys think I'll have luck there.

That is a pretty good looking case, and the dial/hands are pretty solid.

That movement however is filthy, and I wouldn't want to wear it without a good service. That goes for basically EVERY watch you could buy, but doubly so on that one.

Also, the last service has one of my pet peeves (movement ring not centered properly around the stem), which seems like a lack of care by the watchmaker.

Watch looks ok, but I wouldn’t recommend buying from a seller with very little feedback in Korea. A return would be difficult. And import fees apply.

How much should I expect to pay to get this serviced?

Most services for a 3 hander start at 4-500 US for anyone who is a certified Omega watchmaker. You'll pay parts on top, but hopefully you won't need much if it already runs reasonably.

I'd be interested to see the timegrapher results/trace before I bought something this ugly (movement wise).
