Advice/input on restoration

New to the forum, and am looking for some advice on how best to go about restoring this old omega dress watch:

it’s my fathers, probably from the late 70s to mid 80s…maybe an old Omega De Ville? It’s probably about 30mm, gold case, no reference number anywhere on the case.

the dial has some discoloration and damage at the 1 o’clock and 5 o’clock markers. He wants to get it restored but is hesitant about the cost of sending it to Omega and I’m worried about it being butchered at some random local jeweler.

from what I can gather it’s not worth a ton of money, but it does have a lot of sentimental value…

Are there any trusted 3rd party watch makers/restoration places out there that people on the fora recommend?

What’s the rough location you need?

A good independent watchmaker is a decent choice, not a jeweler

The only places I've seen mentioned for repainting dials are International Dial and Kirk Rich. Neither are universally recommended. Dial refinishing isn't generally recommended, but as you suggested, I don't think there's much to lose in this case. These are both in the US, I don't know your location.

Outside of NYC but willing to send to anyone in the US (don’t want to deal with international shipping)

It doesn't worth to send it outside your country because you will pay more for shipping.

I don't have firsthand experience, but Tim MacKrain (omega addict) seems like someone who could potentially service the movement and also arrange for a dial restoration.
