What's your definition of younger generation? Millennials(who aren't that young anymore) are responsible for a huge revival in all kinds of handmade crafts.

Yup. I’m sure many-a-thesis has been written on it, but the movement was about a desire for “authenticity” in a very inauthentic world. Companies like Redwing Heritage, Tanner Goods, Filson, and many more responded to the trend on a more industrial level. The entire vinyl resurgence of the last 15 years was thanks to Millennials. I know we have a large contingent of Millennials who are members here who came to vintage watches out of a rejection of mass produced modern garbage. Gen Z may have a different proclivity though.

I doubt it, most of the younger generation (40 and younger) still believe that Etsy is all hand made items.
    P.S. that cat looks familiar

Just got this back from my watchmaker and it looks terrific on the hand crafted bund strap that Duraciur1 made.

I picked up a couple of old baseball gloves. The leather was better on the older gloves and may prove useful in the future. He always has watches. I buy the ones that have nice buckles. Then there was an old gold coloured Timex. A few winds and a shake and it started ticking. I bought it more for the old strap. It cleaned up nicely. Makes my Bulova stick out too much, but a good guide for copies. 1270BA9D-97F6-4E1C-BA61-359619B4ADD1.jpeg 06052C4E-0CDE-4D8B-BBC1-E2A6F19672FC.jpeg C18813E6-4507-4943-A0DA-9B7D96E2F39A.jpeg FD792F49-3A61-4DC9-99F8-BAF1F7E2993E.jpeg 91496A50-D2D4-408A-858D-7BC2135DEBD0.jpeg CDBA40B4-AB31-4713-9F9B-C838591F84A4.jpeg CB4F7C60-4372-48D7-81B3-64FF492F342B.jpeg EBA2F5F9-38B4-4D03-88A1-DC853D222592.jpeg

Bracelet is a vintage JBC, got it on a Longines Weems (obviously added much later than the watch- probably late 50’s), but I think it suits the watch perfectly. The vintage canvas 2-piece you show in your pic is a must have period correct strap for these and still available on eBay.

The Cooper strap really makes the Speedy pop. I also have a 4 watch roll and love it. It is perfect for travel as it can be rolled or lay flat in the suitcase. Duracuir1's leather goods are top notch!

48FA8F02-638F-4B6C-A6D9-5DEE3E937DEB.jpeg Bought a 20mm Steve was selling here on the forum. Even better in real life, so comfortable currently on my Seiko but destined for my Speedy when I get chance to visit the box and retrieve it. B1D0B703-6640-4FB0-9883-3F80B3BD82E9.jpeg
Very happy with the excellent leather goods Steve produces. Looking forward to my 21mm arriving soon in that lovely baseball leather he has.

Finishing touches on a strap for a member’s Mido. I used an empty case to help me make the pad as symmetrical as possible. The stitching gives it a finished look. 40D86814-8B29-4D4D-8EA0-75800D901142.jpeg Not yet symmetrical. 1F149C62-48C1-467C-A071-4931A4D71C96.jpeg 7CB4DDDE-E571-4BA7-ADDC-0971A5E65260.jpeg ED24A03C-28D0-45B7-9782-1C09AEDF89C0.jpeg AA2C08B7-EED5-4D81-9640-919AD3AC9096.jpeg Acceptable now.

My first pocket watch pouch. Now called a pouch watch! It was a bit cold this morning to wear my DaveK cap but once the fire got going, my favorite head dress was back on! Putting it to the test this afternoon. 86A55931-FCE5-4635-B51C-0E0D29F91BC6.jpeg B39AD216-B668-4A56-94D0-B5CDF480BCD0.jpeg 229950F1-5769-487C-B106-040321DB16E4.jpeg 755BB585-A929-4855-AE3D-9F92F6E86DB9.jpeg 1BFC1557-BF3D-4702-8D69-0803A192CE2A.jpeg 0BFC08B1-678B-4BCB-A043-1BB23D695D96.jpeg 48918DAC-A35D-47A9-8ED7-60EA536B5BE6.jpeg 033C666F-75C3-4F70-AD76-B2A65B9B8218.jpeg 7F695F2B-5850-4439-B76A-E589CCBDF967.jpeg 29802D03-589E-45D3-98B9-B20CB0AD6A13.jpeg 7E115BD2-AAB1-43DA-B710-C609F737DF70.jpeg 0CF9A3CE-4C61-4488-8D1C-8A5923171C57.jpeg 2076E563-47A3-47C5-B002-E73BA6140A84.jpeg 9668DE7D-673D-48CD-A9DF-5CC777F9CD9C.jpeg A76F2536-AD74-4936-AFC0-215F13AF3259.jpeg 3A105AB0-2DE6-4223-917B-23F7BA663744.jpeg 1C4BC8CA-9B12-4689-AE7C-699441B0F3C9.jpeg E2BD1A3C-495C-4EDA-92DC-9B12BFE57E47.jpeg 8B103C39-DE85-4E15-B48B-B430CB608EC4.jpeg 84CB38DC-42D2-41BC-9166-2AAD257AC03F.jpeg 0FC990E7-8C95-4DA0-A148-53491E2B4DF8.jpeg 6AE86A66-CC25-471A-AC51-325411FC46FD.jpeg D47AC68E-72C7-4AA8-B7BC-68DED01E8690.jpeg 5EF7E240-7FA8-4CDB-9AB7-A7546B4A8277.jpeg D4895684-02E7-465F-9E81-32AB0B05A174.jpeg no @Mad Dog pose for me. 058D6CF5-A66D-4720-B6B7-7D396A2C14A6.jpeg @TexOmega will like this clip. 06AB2696-A1E3-44C1-A902-0169A36C07A1.jpeg From an old plain clothes handcuff pouch.

    I took some scrap vegetable-tanned leather…

…dyed it and made a few cuts, and now here we have…

I think most folks would use a fob along with these pouches, but I put a grommet in it as well so you could use a leather thong or chain to protect your watch from being dropped
