I've acquired a vintage 14k Longines Automatic that belonged to my best friends father. as a result I have spent hours trying to find one on the website. The closest I can get is that it is called the 'anniversary model' and has a bulls eye dial. On the back outside cover, one side says 'automatic' and on the opposite end it says '14k Gold A&K'. So do I have it serviced and reconditioned? Put it on for one day, runs perfect. Thanks for you thoughts
The watch is likely real however the dial has been refinished. This significantly decreases the value. An original example can be seen here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/post-your-longineseses.472/page-9#post-323376
One owner does not make the dial original. This refinishing job is not a particularly good one. Notice how the original dial has a mirror-like finish on the portion where the hour markers are. Also notice how the printed, inner circle on the refinished dial encroaches on the sub-dial. There are more issues as well... (For clarity, the above is in response to a post that has subsequently been deleted.)
Thanks Dirty much appreciated. wondering what to do with it. was gonna have it cleaned up and serviced. then gift it to my son
