Hi guys. I'm new to the watch world but I'm excited to take the plunge. This watch caught my eye but I can't find another example of this dial: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BEAUTIFUL-VINTAGE-OMEGA-30T2-SC-PC-WATCH-FROM-1945s/302462269105Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Any advice?
If your asking for that watch! No dipping your toe for a few months and definitely No plunging. Newbie mistakes can cost a lot of money and a lot of people happy to take your money. Your at the right place to learn. Welcome on board.,
+1 You will find a lot of gentlemen. I bought 2 watches here and eveeything was smooth. No need to say that the watches I bought were in top notch conditions
I'm pretty unseasoned but very curious about this watch. What is your tip off that the eBay one is a redial? Jumping between the two, the fonts seem the same, lume looks equally aged. What do you see that says one is legit and the other has had "a little work," as they say in cosmetic surgery circles?
The font in the OP's listed watch is far too thick, the Omega word in print is not even, and the crooked Ohm symbol is about the icing on the cake. For reference check this picture from an earlier thread a little while back:
It's so freaky and indicative of how one's mind plays tricks: until your mention, I absolutely couldn't see the errors. Now they jump out at me! Now, I also think the letters in "Automatic" aren't the same font size from end to end. Neither that word nor Dynamic seems to be written on the same baseline either...but maybe that's the photography? Thanks for removing the scales from my eyes!!
