A pretentious, snobby, old fashioned guide to choosing a strap

My new stingray strap arrived today, and I promptly placed it on my Connie.

Too bold for me, but you do you. I am sure our pretentious, snobby, old-fashioned OP would not approve. To me a stingray strap belongs on something really funky; the Constellation is quite stately. It's a great watch regardless.

I think it fits, as you say the Connie is a stately watch, that can handle a "freaky" strap. Busyness in the front , party in the back kind of thing.

I have a tendency to be more reserved in most of my strap choices but every once in awhile I get a wild hair to try something a bit more edgy. It pleases me that this is not seen as stodgy or conservative.

Is that a converted dog collar?

Omg, maybe that's what it is. I saw it on eBay and I was struggling to make sense of it.

Yeah that would be Mad dogs Sextette dogging watch.

Ah, I see. In this scenario, how is the timing bezel utilized?

Also, I have this one coming (it’s currently sitting in customs). Any suggestions here?

Um…?

I’ve got it now n it’s on a simple black strap but I’m replacing it by a dark brown real croc strap I just ordered.
