Recently i happened to service this nice 30CH with pin pushers, stainless steel case, excellent conditions.

Very cool case and a great movement.

I have always been intrigued by the lever below. In order to 'free' the minute counter, does this lever press downward on the protruding pin when resetting?

Wow that's awesome, back in the day Longines movements were definitely up there with the big boys! Beautiful.

Yes, the lever pushes down the sliding gear wheel while the hammer resets the two counter wheels then a spring below the wheel's lower pin push it into position.

Thank you for the explanation. This vertical (as opposed to horizontal) actuation is quite an interesting development.
