A little help with P Buhré watch

Well I stopped by this little junk stop I’ve gotten a couple watches from, the dude remembered me and took out a box of mostly junk watches for me to look through. Being that he took the time to do that for me plus bantering with him for a while I felt compelled to purchase something just to stay in good terms. So I picked up a timex electric, just because, and this older watch which I really liked the dial and the sub seconds. I spent a whopping 15 bucks for the pair. The back of the case on the older watch got damaged by a shameful plastic NATO someone dared attach to it. So I get home and open the case find an 18k hallmark and it’s made by P Buhré. Apparently a one time prestigious brand which I never heard of. Anyone know much about these?

I should note the case around simply is stamped with “metal” which I found odd

Well, gold is indeed a metal.
damn you are bright. Yes I just find it odd to have 18k hallmarks on the inside of the case and then stamp “metal” outside

Not at all uncommon for the adaptor ring around the movement to be stamped “metal,” when the case is karat gold.

Ok that’s was kind of what I was thinking. So that particular part of the watch prob is not gold, I mean that’s what I can think that would make sense. Apparently this is an old russian made watch the company founded during Czarist times

Ya I was just surprised about the gold factor. I think it will clean up nice. Those are “fixed” spring bars which got bent up a bit overtime probably partly due to gold being soft and it not being cared for, it’s amazing they didn’t break. I can’t tell the year yet. This Russian company did open a factory in Switzerland at some point. Funny when you just stumble across these things, if I was looking for it I probably wouldn’t have found it.

Oh damn that’s good, that is worthy of a hairy pic but this thread hasn’t gone far enough on the rails yet and @STANDY will scold me if I put hairy in this early.

Yes, and I am a stickler for rules, it’s how I became so successful I wouldn’t dream of breaking that rule

Ha ha that is so cool. Thanks because I did not yet investigate their current status. I was quite amazed to see quite a few of their “back in the day” pocket watches going for a quarter of a million. They also made some very cool looking moon phases (wrist watches) that are quite stunning. That’s one of the cool things about this site, up until today I didn’t even know they existed and now with my investigation and a few people reaching out I have appreciation for another brand. And I know this isn’t like a big ticket watch I have hear but definitely has a cool factor going on.

I forgot to put up the Timex I picked up the same time I got that funky 18k watch. I know nothing about timex but a cool member here gave me a little info on it stating it’s a 60’s. It is in very nice shape considering I wish the I could find watches I like more in this condition. Very cool way to set the time you lift that piece on the back. So yeah I have no idea if it works gonna try to get a battery today, if it runs it’ll just be an occasional wearer.
