I should note the case around simply is stamped with “metal” which I found odd

Not unusual at all, no matter what the case material is - this is stainless steel case on a fairly modern Omega, and you can see that the enlargement ring is stamped with "METAL"...

Gotta archer, tbh this is only my 3rd gold watch. So would you think the part marked “metal” is not 18k. Not a big deal I just don’t know much about gold watches and it is possible I might sell this Buhre to obtain a Baltic, when I’m selling it I don’t want to mislead anyone about gold content or at least give them as much accurate info as I can. I do not own any other watches stamped with “metal” but it’s not like I own every watch ever made

No it won't be gold. It's the movement spacer, so I don't recall ever seeing one of those made of precious metal.

So you'll be selling for the (roughly) $10 you paid, or

Ha ha tbh I’m having difficulty coming up with a price. I really like the guy who wants to buy it I just have no clue how much 18k gold is in this thing. Like archer and Canuk mentioned that spacer isn’t gold. I think the watch with the movement is like 26 grams so maybe it’s reasonable to think the watch has 10 grams of 18k in it? Of course he promises me he isn’t going to melt it down but I have a strong suspicion that is what he is after. I also want to be fair in general as I really get annoyed when I see overpriced stuff but maybe I’m a hypocrite considering I paid 10 bucks for it. It’s all done in the name of me getting a watch I like more so I don’t think I’m being to much of a jerk

I was in the same boat recently. Though it is a very happy boat to be in, I also struggled with making such an easy profit. As long as you and the seller both feel like you got a good deal, then just enjoy the windfall. If you get lucky like this every day though... 😒

I always look at it as an evening out in this hobby. Some we get lucky and make a little cash which we dump right back into it. Most of the time we spend more than is sane and end up selling at a loss- it’s part of the hobby.

I may be one of the worst watch sellers on the planet. When I sold mathey-Tissot I was complaining to my buddy that I regretted selling it and wish I had it back. He pointed out I told him that everyday for a week, he told me to stfu, call the guy, offer him what he paid plus 50 bucks so I could get the watch back and he could stop hearing me cry about it. Sad things is I actually considered doing it.

Ah cool got this 60’s timex running. Took a new battery (357) and a good shake started moving. I hear it’s hard to find these running and they aren’t really repaired anymore. Keeping good time for now I’ll see if it runs for a few days then put a different band on so I don’t get pinched
