Just came back from some Vacation to this one, came from Vegas and I'd say this is probably the dirtiest I've found a speedie. Starting to clean it up today, and hopefully find some brown under that scratched up hesalite!

Will continue to up date as I go.

Please do not dispose of the muck around the lugs and spring bars. It's period correct, and becoming more sought after.

It will very interesting to see the end result.
Just polishing the crystal will make a huge difference.
Looks like a good 'un.

Thanks all for the kind congratulations, still working on this one and since I don't own any PolyWatch :whipped:....I tried some clear plastic polish made for automobile headlights.

The scratches left are too deep to come out with this stuff, and I'd guess for polywatch as well. But more importantly, Does anyone else see some deep brown color?!?!?

Fantastic untouched example. Btw those spring bars are original so keep them safe.

Gah, already in the rubbish bin with the rest of the detritus. It does not surprise me thought as the case back has no marks from service and the movement screws appear untouched.

Thanks for the new fun fact though!

Brown there alright.
You are wasting your time polishing.
There is a crack all the way through between 4 and 5

Yup, good spot, but some additional elbow grease has helped a bit. No more polishing, remounted bezel.........et voila! Deep, dark drown on this dial.

Killer pick-up! The dirtier, the better (doesn't only apply to watches) 😝
