路I have always been intrigued by the moonphase complication but have never owned a moonphase watch. After seeing so many nice TDMPs posted here, I started casually looking for one.
What a minefield! The majority for sale have either terribly degraded dials or are redials. The movement is also concerning because parts are difficult to find.
A few months ago I purchased this early 2471/1 with 27 DLPC movement. It was working nicely except for the quickset moonphase, which was sticky. It is now back from the watchmaker so I wanted to share it here.
The dial is very nice except for the mark near 6 oclock. Interestingly it doesn't bother me too much since it is so low and on the thin part of the dial. The case is lovely and wears well at 34mm.
All the features are now working and it is a very fun watch to wear. Definitely a classic - I can see why so many people like this reference.
