Below are photos of the watch, I like it and would like to purchase it. I just want to know if its worth the price or if there is any red flags. I am brand new to watches. I will copy and paste all info the buyer provided below. The strap he made himself with horse leather.

"Hey, so this is a 1958 (I think, according to the serial number) Omega Seamaster Caliber 500, ref GX6250. I serviced it myself last year, and I can take a timegrapher reading tomorrow or this weekend if you want. The case is 14k gold filled. Theres that little nick in the bezel I'm sure you can see. The strap is homemade, as I mentioned. I do like it a lot, but would be willing to let it go for a flat $600."

I have a very similar watch, with a very close serial number to the one you posted.

Reference: 2846 1SC
Year: 1956
Cal: 501
Movement: Automatic
Power Reserve: 24h
Jewels: 20
Case Diameter: 34mm
Water Resistance: 30 meters
Case Back: Press-in
Dial: Two-tone dial
Body: Gold Plated Stainless Steel

As you can see from the info above if the watch is indeed a 2846 then the case back should be a press-in variation and not a screw type like the one you posted.

I assume the price you quoted above is in USD and if so would be overpriced in my opinion for a watch like this in the condition it's in: poor dial, potential incorrect case back. For reference I paid $320 USD for my watch.

Overpriced but probably not hugely so.

It's not a 2846. The OP was given the reference number of a US collection watch.

In addition to other condition issues, including plating that is completely worn through on some of the lugs, it looks like a personal engraving was removed from the back. I'm really not a fan of the watch.
