A cursive geneve for sale worth a look?

I recently bought a cursive omega as my first omega watch. This was one of the others on my radar.
I gave this one the slip because the seller discription that it was 1940 and the hand style etc made me a bit weary, though I was very tempted by the price.
A pretty looking example nevertheless.
I am posting here and not in recommended ebay listings as I am not comfortable recommending it. Perhaps the experienced members can comment on it and it would be a teaching moment or may be it's a good buy after all.

I was pretty tempted at 1k USD and open to offers for a solid gold example. 90percent will be covered in scrap value itself right?

This model isn’t as appealing or sought after as the other Geneve you bought. The lack of proper photos makes it difficult to assess or confirm the seller’s description and the condition of the watch. The buckle is worth ~$200 if it’s solid 18k gold as the seller claims but I’d ask for some additional photos of the inside and outside of the case back, movement, buckle hallmarks etc.

I'm not sure the seller really knows what he's talking about, so you should probably ask for photos proving the claims, especially the gold hallmarks.

16mm strap, looks to be cut down to fit the lugs as well, so I'd guess this is a small watch, ladies model?

And the strap is original to the lizard, not to Omega

Buckle may be genuine, need proper photos though.

Are we sure that this isn’t a redial? Zoom in and look closely at the 8 and 10 hour markers.

Distortion (refraction) caused by the curvature of the crystal.
The markers are applied batons, so shouldn't't be bent like that.

Thanks. I thought perhaps that was the case, but couldn’t really tell from the photos.

I’ve not seen a case like that before. I would be curious to see if has Omega Swiss or local hallmarks.

I’d also want to know the diameter to be sure it is a man’s watch. Looks quite small to me.
