Some people seem to use the 808 solid endlinks off the 1450 bracelet on the older 1171 bracelet due to the 633 bent tin endlinks being very rattly and having a boxy square look rather than a rounded one, just wondering what you guys think, the 808 endlinks are only $50 off Ofrei, the following are photos of them on the 1171:

Notice as you can see in the last picture there's a tiny gap where they fit as the 1171 is about 1mm narrower than the 1450 where it joins

I think it is a good replacement for the original endlinks. Looks like a low risk gamble to make.

I would install a stainless micro washer on each side of the space to give a better fit and prevent sliding wear . Available at many hardware stores in the US :D

I've got 808's on my vintage 1171 on a 105.012. I had to file down the lip slightly at each end as it prevented the spring bars from reaching the holes, although I believe this is only an issue on 60's models.

Haven't felt the need to for any washers due to sideways movement though.

I like it and have had it on for a year or so.

I would say however that I sent a '68 to STS for a service, along with its bracelet and when it came back the 633 endlinks had been tighten to a perfect fit and now have absolutely zero rattle.
