To each his own. I personally like the look very much, like a 2915-1 with only one minor difference. I would never spend the money on the original and even if I did I would probably not wear it, this is the best of both worlds. Would I have preferred a 321 in it? Yes! Let’s see what they do in 2019...

In my humble opinion, even though this is a new time piece, I really enjoy the aesthetic tied to the original. I think the aged design gives it an authentic look and feel that is beautiful.

The watch has 'soul' which is not found in some brands or timepieces.

I was in NYC this past weekend for the WatchBuys Road Show. So, I had to take advantage of this and paid a visit to the Omega Boutique on Fifth Avenue. Most importantly, I finally acquired an Omega deployant or folding clasp for my Trilogy Speedy:

I've been considering custom straps from multiple sources. Fortunately, I did not pull the trigger since there is a lot I'm still learning as this is my first Omega. But, Jacob, Adderly and the rest of the staff were very helpful. Here are some of my key findings:

● The tail folds inwards creating a nice, clean look.
● Thus, there are no need for keepers.
● To fit within the folding clasp, the tail needs to gradually get thinner by the tip ~2mm. Thick straps won't work with these.
● Typically, standard straps are ~ 115 / 75mm. With Omega, both pieces are almost identical in length. Adderly showed me a strap where the tail portion was just slightly longer.
● Thanks to Jacob, he helped determine the best lengths for my wrist size (~6.7"). I'm looking at 95 / 90mm.
● There is also no need for the notch at the 16mm point that attaches to the folding clasp. Omega straps run straight.

* For other forum members, please chime in your experiences and thoughts with Omega's folding clasps. *

I now feel more confident about pulling the trigger on some custom straps. Now, I just hope this will be comfortable.

Received the call from my AD today while driving out-of-state. Fortunately, my wife was at the wheel so I was able to answer my phone when I saw the AD's name pop up on the screen. I will be picking up my Speedy on Wednesday. Updates to follow.

I come to the forum from Spain, and today they have delivered my Speedmaster 60th, with some bad photos, because at the moment I do not want to remove the plastics

Congratulations, rafabond!

Does anyone know the buckle width on the OEM Omega strap?

Apologies if this has been mentioned already.

You need 19 / 16 mm straps. 19mm is the lug-to-lug width and 16mm at the buckle.

Isn’t it 19/18 but 16 buckle is available. That’s with the Tuesday 20/18 with cool old buckle. Had to replace it with the new old style buckle in 16mm. Best for all that 2 stitch vintage straps

So is it 16 or 18 mm for the buckle on the 60th Anniversary Speedy vintage brown strap?

I can't speak for the Speedy Tuesday. But, I'm 100% confident the 60th Anniversary Speedy is 16mm at the buckle of the vintage brown strap.

* Those of you that switched to the vintage brown or the NATO strap probably already know this. *

When I spoke with Jacob on Saturday at the Omega Boutique on Fifth Avenue regarding the folding clasp, I mentioned that I was surprised that Omega didn't include any extra spring bars with the individual pieces. He replied that there were extra spring bars - they are within the strap changing tool. All I had to do was shake it and I would hear them. Sure enough, I just checked:

It's Wednesday - correct? I'm at the 'office' eagerly awaiting your obligated wrist shot and your thoughts!😉

Awesome! Congratulations! Worth the wait?!
I have been waiting for the right Speedmaster to come along for a lot longer. So looking back at it, 8 months doesn't seem that long and well worth the time.
