Random question/s: I just received my 60th speedy and am super excited to have it The watch is gorgeous and I can't wait to officially wear it this Saturday on my wedding day. But when I took it to the OB to get sized I noticed a small scratches on the lugs and a small one on the bezel; not deep at all. Definitely not done by the OB as I noticed it before any work was done but not by me either as it's the first time I ever held it. Does it matter enough to say something and see if they can fix it or should I just relax and know that it was going to happen sometime in the future. Also is there anyway to fix it myself?

Just relax. You wouldn't want your watch to be polished knowing that you've just received it. Even if you have it polished, it'll be scratched again. So just relax and enjoy wearing it. 😉

Got mine yesterday, this will be my wearer, trilogy will sit in the safe to be sold by my children one day.
Really nice watch, captures the spirit of the original without the drama. Hope to get one with a 321 in 2019...

Thanks for sharing the photos, I was also wondering why so few people wear it on the leather strap. I think it looks great and will also age very well, judging the type of leather from the photo.
Maybe some people doesn't want to risk the lugs changing the bracelet yet. And they prefer to wear it carefully that way for the first days. While its possible removing it without leaving marks, I'd say its a challenge, and more appropriate for a WM with the right tools, or someone happy with new marks...

Changed mine; left some marks. To me, it’s not a big deal because I’ll be swapping straps so much it won’t bother me. I’ve worn my Speedy for two and a half weeks straight and have picked up some very tiny “character-building” love marks to remind me that watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed (but never polished), not stored in some safe collecting dust.

Agree with you, live is simply that way 😉
But I think many could be still impressed or undecided with the new toy and they prefer not to leave marks yet.

Hi everyone!

I've been a silent reader but I think the time has come to do some contribution. First of all, thank you all for the posts which helped my impatience, visiting and reading everyday, for this amazing piece. Congrats to the all new owners! I've tried all the combinations and the watch is great on the bracelet and on the nato as well, but the leather strap really works for me. I haven't seen many pictures of the watch on the leather and next to an another watch, so hope these would be helpful to the potential owners

Looks beautiful on the strap 👍

Damn, mine's picked up a few scratches already 😜
I have a newer one if you’d care for a trade? You don’t want those scratches all over it now, do you?? 😁

haha found out so soon. This one belongs to Maurizio https://www.instagram.com/plock33/

His collection isn't too bad. I'm still waiting for the call to get mine.
Compare these similar wrist-shots, they did a great job 👍

I normally put 2 layers of tapes on the lugs before removing the bracelet or straps to avoid leaving marks on the lugs. I hope this helps. 😉

I still think the original is a better value (if there's such a thing in the luxury watch category) than the 60th.

Of course. I agree because you can buy the Pro Moonwatch for half the cost of the 60th Anniversary. But the Moonwatch isn't an almost exact re-edition of the original Speedmaster CK2915. It's up to the individual to determine for themselves if the 60th is worth the additional money. I have decided that it is for me if it looks OK on my smallish wrist.

It doesn't wear any smaller. If anything, it wears larger because the lugs extend out just a bit more. I think the additional 3mm or w/e comes from the sassy crown guards of the regular production. The bracelet is lighter and more comfortable on the 3570.50 but it's about the same if you have the newer reference w/ the screws for bracelet adjustment since they made the links longer and thicker.

6.5 in wrist:

Thanks for a very useful comparison between the two. It’ll help many of us to take a decision.

Thanks for the comparison pics. The lugs do make the watch wear large. I'll have to check this when (if?) i pick up my Speedy.
