This is something I have been struggling with the last two months. Buy a Speedy, and maybe the Seamaster, and then add a Railmaster if/ when the reseller prices dip? Or jump all-in for the full set? These will go to my son in 20 or 25 years, and he will potentially have them for 45+ years after that. So the thought of the full set is attractive, as maybe the set will prove over a 50+ year timeframe to be sought after.

I do not have a formal reservation for either singles or the trio, but I have an agreement with someone who has reserved both to do a deal one way or the other once the watches are delivered.
Hope your arrangement is fixed firmly as quite likely after being released speedmaster would be available only against a premium.

I know how you feel, BT. Please remind me, did you place a deposit on the Trilogy set? Honestly, that small detail would be a deal breaker for me. For me, adding the word Trilogy and the number to the face defeats the purpose of Omega going through the painstaking process of providing us with a watch that is as close to the original as possible. To me, the watches haven't gained anything. For the first time in 60 years Omega is giving us the opportunity to go back in time to 1957. That small out-of-place detail won't allow the Trilogy set owners to do this. If I had the the $21,000, and I actually lusted after all three, I would purchase all three individually. Just my 2 cents.
Exactly what i did. Top notch number granted for each of the three in written by Omega. Hope they will deliver.

Hmm. I don't want to jinx it either. Does it start with a 1 and end with a 7? 😀 I asked for 2017!

it's a great watch, but a shame that Omega still can't seem to get a bracelet that doesn't have poor fitting endlinks. Another model with too far of a gap in the endlinks, showing the springbar. With today's state-of-the-art CNC machines allowing incredibly close tolerances, it's simply unforgivable that a mass produced watch still have this issue. Rolex does a superb job with this, and thus churn out watches in the millions.

Food for thought: A year and a half ago this 1957 Omega Speedmaster Reference 2915-1 sold at Christie's for $137,000 =)

Wonder if it would have went for that much if this 60th version was available then...

interesting question.. but I'm going to guess people who pay 100k+ for watches care only about exclusivity.
There are plenty of remakes, reissues, fakes, frankens, homages.. but the price keeps climbing.

Clearly not... it's missing the other straps that come with the 60th!😁

A few new photos from LWQP watch blog and Ace Jewelers.

Wow. Looking good. This wait has become unbearable already.

Really curious to see what these dials look like in person. In some photos they look grey, some they look brown, and some they look black.

I do like both a lot but still prefer the ST this time around just because of how cool the reverse panda looks.

Thanks for taking the side by side pics 👍

Hey All. I thought since we are getting closer to the launch of the 60th Anniversary '57 Speedmaster we should have an OFFICIAL post specifically for this model. As for me, I've had one on order since March 23rd at the Tyson's Corner, Virginia Omega Boutique. Looking forward to seeing the watch in person.

😁

No way! oddboy! Do you own the REAL DEAL?!!! Ref. CK2915 Speedy? -1 or 2? I'm assuming a -2.

Well, sort of, but not really.

It's a pet project.
