the most accurate way to get this info is to order an Extract of Archive from Omega. It does cost quite a bit for a piece of paper though.

Hey! Did you end up selling this watch? I was just looking at one to buy in London with the same serial and also a sea master but told it is 2013. Thanks in advance!

Are you sure that this watch is legitimate? The back of the bracelet on your Omega looks very different than mine. My looks like this:

Do you know what the model number is for the watch?

Forgot to take a picture of the catch but photo of the serial and face below. Any insights greatly appreciated before I buy it!

I’m skeptical with those photos. Ask the seller for the MODEL number, not just the serial. For example, on my Aqua Terra the model number is 231.10.39.21.03.001. The seller should be able to give you a model number. Once you have the model number, you can then search the model and see what shows up. Based on those photos, I'm inclined to think that the watch is not legitimate. A real Omega Aqua Terra is much more detailed. Here's an example of mine:

I have an AT bracelet for my 2220.80 and my clasp looks similar to the OP's. I got mine from the Houston OB. Only difference between mine and the OP's is the OP has huge gaps in his. Mine is much closer together.

There is a LOT about those pictures that leave me suspicious about the authenticity of that watch. The amount of the date in the window looks wrong, and on both yours and the original OPs serial numbers, the lasering is inconsistent between the numbers in a way I've never seen an Omega serial number be. The caseback has either been refinished, or just done poorly on the non-shiny parts. That appears to be raw lathe tooling marks, done in a fairly amateur way. The dial doesn't look like something Omega would have made either.

I'm MUCH more sure that the bracelet on that is not authentic though. The endlink fitup is terrible, the '889' imprint doesn't look like any of the Omegas I've seen, and I can't seem to find ANYTHING about an 889 bracelet endlink.

I wouldn't buy that unless I was REALLY sure. I'd suggest at minimum pulling the case back to look at the movement. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Seiko knock-off movement in that.

That is at best a franken Quartz movement AT from the 1st generation.

Just to add: Markers and hands look like they were polished with a fairly gritty steel wool. The case back is all jacked, these fake case backs always have what look like nicks and gouges that have been polished out- my guess is it's just very cheap casting process.

Maybe the point is to make it look like it's "worn," but man. No good.

There's way too much that doesn't look right on this watch. Maybe it's just the quality of the photo, but does it look like there's no lume material on the minutes hand?
