565 not getting second click

Hello,wonder has anyone got any thoughts
bought an omega Geneve 565 cystal was cracked so decided to have a go myself
got the crystal in OK but after putting the crown and stem back in quick set date not working
not getting the second click when pulling the crown out
date changes OK when move time past 12pm
took the crown stem out again and tried again but still no joy
convinced it was working before

Just guessing, but if you used a press for this and the bottom die was interfering with the crown, it may have damaged something from the pressure of seating the crystal. This can be a real risk with some cases, like front loading versions. You will have to remove the movement and look at the setting parts.

Thank you for your reply,yes I did use a press but I removed the movement and crown before hand,starting to wonder if this is the right crown or stem as dont know the history,but convinced it worked before,very odd

If you have removed the crown and the setting no longer works, it's likely from removing the crown rather than from the crystal. You may have dislodged part of the setting mechanism, so the hands and dial need to come off to see what's going on.

Thanks again for your reply,think you are right unfortunatley, as putting hands back on is my achilles heal,I cant hold things as steady as I used to,
its a pest had another couple of goes and it started working,thought great fixed itself,but now has stopped again
