Hate to tell you, but Ref. 2852-5 doesn’t have a pie-pan dial. It has a dome dial. The pie-pans came out a bit later on Ref. 2852-7 and later. At the end they started over with 2852-1. These watches have later serial numbers in the 15.5M range and higher.

The 19 jewel cal. 501 is correct for Ref. 2852-5.

Watch has been put together with pieces of at least two watches. I wouldn’t buy it with your money.

And with either a 501 or 505.. is it safe to say the ones with piepan dials are basically Frankens or...?

Damn, you're really getting beat up!!! Let me throw you a rope (and not to hang yourself with!!) If you bought it at a real decent price it may be worth putting a little money into and used as an everyday watch. Not every watch out there is destined to be in the Omega museum. Your next purchase should be from a trusted seller here, or done after alot more research. I have a number of vintage watches that I'm sure wouldn't pass muster here, but it's all part of the learning curve. If the truth be known, some of the more experienced collectors here probably have a few dogs hanging out it the back of their safes too.

Thanks windows.. lol.. i got the watch for $350, i paid $50 for an original bezel that has a crack but figure it can either be fixed or itll go great with the rest of the watch as is, and $20 for a crystal.. so all in is $420 to have a cool wearable constellation. Oh forgot to mention I had an old Chinese bead or rice band laying around that i put on it.
