Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I’ve sold a watch here. I’m now parting with a couple in anticipation of a new family member, and this particular one is so nice, it’d be a shame if it didn’t stay among OF’ers.

The Watch

Omega Constellation
Reference: 168.005
Movement: 564 with date quickset
Serial: 25625576
Year: ca. 1967
Case: 34.5mm, stainless steel
Dial: Original sunburst-finish pie-pan dial with yellow gold indices, hands, applied Omega logo and writing
Strap & buckle: Burgundy leather, I’m sure I can offer an alternative if desired. Original Omega buckle. Correct 7-row beads of rice bracelet available at cost.

Condition

Dial & Hands: The original dial is in very good shape. Hands and indices don’t show any significant deterioration, the edge of the pie pan dial is sharp and present. There’s a small dot near the outside of the dial between 10 and 11 which I’ve only become aware of in the pictures, never noticed it on the wrist. Non-luminous configuration, which definitely helps the watch to stay as visually fresh as it looks. Full three lines including “Officially Certified”, as is correct for a very late 168.005 with a cal. 564. See the black example below as an example for an earlier 2-liner:

Case: Original 34.5mm stainless steel case. It’s very, very sharp and judging by the amount of inquires we get here regarding checks on rather polished Doglegs, I sometimes wonder how many people actually are aware they left the factory this sharp.
There’s minute scratches everywhere, as expected from a ~60 year old watch. Medallion is as sharp as the lugs would suggest.

Crown: Period-correct and original “flat feet” logo thin decagonal crown, exactly what it should have.

Crystal: Period-correct and original “flat feet” logo Omega plexi.

Movement: Original cal. 564 automatic, chronometer certified. Unlike the cal. 561, that can be found in the majority of 168.005s, this is one of the latest incarnations and thus comes with a cal. 564, which means: a proper date quickset.
The movement is in great shape, visually and mechanically. Movement pics were taken before a recent service. Accordingly, it runs with an amplitude of ~250, deviation of close to zero. Funky detail: It also comes with a service bill from 2002.

Strap, Buckle, Box: Included is this burgundy leather strap and an original, 16mm Omega buckle. If you prefer I can also offer a nice, sharp 7-row BoR that matches the condition of the watch.
It also comes with the nicest of those later faux-leather Constellation boxes I’ve come across. Even the original tray is included, so is the outter box.

Seller Reviews

Plenty reviews available here, but either my username is too short to use the search function for that or I’m not handling the forum software eloquently enough, which is entirely possible. Anyway:
