This rather nice watch sold at auction today for £5,800 + fees, the auction house estimate was, laughably, £500 - 700. Such a fabulous watch I thought I would pop it in here....

Don’t think I’ve seen that dial configuration on a Sei Tacche before, looks gorgeous and amazing price.
Nice result for the seller ( and auction house)

Thanks for updating - I wondered how high it would go. A beautiful watch for sure. Certainly pushed up by the similar example which sold at Phillips a couple years ago.
Which goes to show again Phillips have built a brand in a league of its own because that other one sold for a whopping 40K dollars.

My goodness that is some serious coin! I know nothing about Longines, is this just a super rare dial? I love 40's radium dials but this is next-level

Beautiful watch in the "big" sei tacche case. Phillips watch was the one shown in the Goldberger book. 36 mm is not usual, unfortunately the price range is going up and up. Lucky if you can get one in a smaller case, they are still affordable. And this dial type is really outstanding.

Of all the different Longines watches that I collected over the years, the military style were not the ones that I thought would appreciate in value the most. I still remember looking at grainy pictures on the bay in the early 2000s and passing on so many.

What a wonderful piece this watch is.
