Oh I love the fact I have to wind my watch, set the date and power reserve it reminds me it's a 'proper' watch I just would prefer to do that once a week a pose to daily. I plan to wear one on a weekly rotation so as to minimise wear time.

A question guys. The 50th Ann SP is obviously extremely hard to find now new however I have found a mid size/ladies one with diamond on dial. Would it be a complete nono to consider wearing this only I know the standard SP 36.5mm is called men's mid size?

If not, could you offer advise as to where I could find the best condition used men's one?

Nope. Speedmaster. He can learn to wind a watch, and LOVE IT.

Hence the post in the "Modern Omega And No Other Brand Whatsoever" forum.
All smart-butt comments aside, there are some choice recommendations here, and I like the OP's idea to collect the Bond editions. The ones in the photo above are tastefully done and beautifully executed.
@taz101,

Thanks for the heads-up...oh dear what a ::facepalm1:: moment. Will start reading the forum section guidelines sometime soon. My only rather weak justification is that I had probably drunk too much wine yesterday, reducing my "amazing powers of observation" and my rather weak brain to almost "nobody home" status馃槈

I also would look into AT, railmaster, globe master or de calle territory.

Just as a note the Bond LE don't really hold their value any more than other watches, and perhaps less than some.

I'd have to disagree with that. The 50th ann is retail price second hand everywhere I've found it!

I want to invest in Bond limited editions as they hold their value and my plan is to keep all three and hand them down hopefully so my plan is now to grab the Spectre AT..sell my standard blue prof..get a second hand 50th ann bond SP..(holds breath)

Buy the Bonds because you like them, not because you think they'll hold their value - they won't. Omega makes far too many of each Bond "limited edition" and they all end up depreciating more or less the same as the standard models. Your best bet would be to pick them up second-hand if you're concerned about value....

Ah, but the pleasure of wine is it opens the heart while letting the mind relax. A glorious state of being!
My comments are frequently laced with sarcasm, and meant to bring a smile. I have been guilty of failing to stamp the requisite "smiley face" on occasion. My first lesson came when I managed to infer that a member's admiration of tool watches suggested he was like the watches he admired. No one wants to be called a tool, believe me!
Anyway, I hope my post didn't come across as any kind of negative observation, it was all meant in fun! Cheers!

Not to me it didn't. I welcome all advise but I'm fully decided. I am a bond fan and would like a limited edition bond box of 3 馃榾

No worries mate. I enjoyed the way you phrased the "put down" and it did bring a smile. I suppose your "embarassing" reference on "tool" watches might have been better appreciated in a "porn star" fraternity forum馃榿

My vote would be a Globemaster or an Aqua Terra on a strap. You've got the sporty watches covered, go for something a little more formal looking.

Only problem is I wont be able to decide on bracelet or strap! The SM300 LE is easily better on the nato black and white but its a tough on on the AT LE! I think I edge toward bracelet due to the overall stainless steel finish especially on the crisp bezel and I think the polished centre link suits this for the above reason also whereas it doesn't on the standard SM300

If you're ever on the fence always buy the bracelet. You can purchase the strap later whereas purchasing the bracelet later is MUCH more expensive. Also, straps wear down faster than bracelets and bracelets can be refinished/polished whereas straps once done are done.

Looks like you made your choice with the Aqua Terra, a Seamaster Trifecta. Nice!

I'd of said a Speefmaster. When you want number 4 (and you may!) give it thought.

Either the Professional (the Moonwatch) or the First Omega in Space, which is similar, but with a slightly streamlined case, giving it a slightly smaller look. Offered on a brown leather strap, very comfortable and light.

The Moonwatch may be had on a strap, too, which alleviates weight.

Here's my vintage Moonwatch on a black strap:

Here's the First Omega in Space, based on the watch worn my Mercury Astronaut Wally Schirra in 1962, before the Professional (Moonwatch) variant was adapted by NASA:
