Just wonder if I could seek your expertise for a colleague who has seen an Omega Grand Prix 1900 pocket watch for sale. I knew just where to come to seek advice. The seller says the dial (with no chips or cracks) and hands and movement all original. He has only had the glass replaced with a vintage, period bullseye one, he said. This watch is the lesser grade coin silver and he is asking £275.

Grateful for your thoughts from anyone who knows these pocket watches and could cast an expert eye over the dial, hands and movement in particular. I will attach some photos below. I have marked with an arrow a part of the movement that I wonder is a later replacement bit to our untrained eye? Thank you for any advice on this pocket watch. Is this a good buy….or a goodbye!

Sounds expensive, I’ve never actually heard of someone trying to buy one of these, only sell them as there are about 100 on the market for every buyer out there. I would try to get it a bit over silver value if possible.

Sounds very expensive to me also. I don't think that you will ever get your money back on a watch like that. Good luck.
